Zeelnaz Parabia

When the mind and the body are free of fear, free of guilt, free of anger and more centred then it holds the power to heal any ailment.

– Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Building, creating and ensuring Safety is the foundation on which I provide my psychological service. I aim to provide freedom and space for you in each session, whereby you get closer and closer to seeing the pure, powerful and loving soul within. I see therapy as safely peeling off the survival layers that are built overtime as protection and re-connecting with wisdom to your child-like innocence.

I am trained as a Clinical Psychologist who has worked in both the public and private sector, including CARE schools and forensic settings. I have experience in assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and adults who experience a broad range of concerns including, anxiety, stress, anger/ aggression problems, complex trauma, adjustment difficulties and addiction problems.

Taking a collaborative and holistic approach, I have a growing interest in how the body and our nervous system carries unresolved life events and experiences. For decades we have ignored our bodies and its attempts to communicate to assist with healing. I am excited that the deep physical and emotional healing enabled by the practice of mind-body therapies allows people with a history of trauma to reclaim their bodies in a safe manner. I believe in the importance of honouring you as the expert of your own life and experiences, and sees myself as your personalised crutches in the journey of exploring your deepest concerns and challenges. I believe in drawing on your strengths to help facilitate your desired change in your life.

My aim is to offer you an individualised approach whereby with your permission, I may draw upon a combination of below mentioned evidence-based models:

  • Trauma-Sensitive Yoga therapy
  • Sensorimotor Trauma Therapy
  • Attachment Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & Cognitive Re-Structuring
  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy
  • Schema Therapy
  • Yogic principles/ Yoga Nidra
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
  • Mindfulness Skills
  • Meditation
  • Expressive therapies (art, dance, music)

I strongly believe in ‘Practise what you Preach’ and therefore I continue my own journey of Swadhaya (self-reflection) through spirituality, meditation practices and professional supervision as a commitment to my own self- care and growth.

When the energy is high and where there is Love, healing happens automatically!
